Musical Soiree at music school

The public is invited to attend a Musical Soirée celebrating the shared values of the Capital Area’s nationally recognized music organizations, Concord Community Music School and Avaloch Farm Music Institute, on Saturday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Concord Community Music School, 23 Wall St.

The evening begins with a stellar performance by the Thalea String Quartet, current ensemble-in-residence at Avaloch Farm Music Institute in Boscawen. The quartet, which made its debut at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., in 2016, is dedicated to bringing timeless music to audiences from all walks of life – and connecting with audiences on a musical, emotional and personal level, from first-time listeners to string quartet aficionados. As top prize winners at both the 2018 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and the 2018 Chamber Music Yellow Springs Competition, Thalea “never failed to deliver a stirring performance” (Calgary Herald).

The performance will be followed by an elegant reception with hors-d’oeuvres, wine, craft beer and music for mingling.

The soirée is produced in partnership with the League of NH Craftsmen as part of the Capital Arts Fest, with thanks to the Firestone Family Foundation for their support. Contributions will benefit more than 700 weekly music school participants who receive free or reduced-cost instruction and therapeutic services through its Financial Aid Fund and Music in the Community Initiative.

A donation of $50 per person is requested. For more information or to register, visit ccmusicschool.org or call 228-1196, ext. 103.
