Want to get a jump on your holiday shopping?

Now that it’s just about November (or actually is the 11th month depending on when you’re reading this), it’s about time to start thinking about your holiday shopping.

You don’t want to be that person who waits until the last minute – again.

So over the next couple months, you’ll go in and out of stores and peruse online trying to find that perfect gift to help cross people off your list. It can be a challenge when you’re just not finding the thing you’re looking for to give that special someone.

But don’t forget about the fact that holiday fairs – or similar events – will soon be common place, popping up all over the area.

Keep an eye out for more in future issues of the Insider, yet in the time being, we’ve got three great early options this week to help get your holiday shopping off the ground.

Beaver Meadow

On Thursday, the Beaver Meadow School gymnasium will be taken over with the One Stop Shopping Extravaganza from 5 to 8 p.m.

Local businesses like Capitol Craftsman & Romance Jewelers and the Viking House will be there. Concord Handmade will have all kinds of great creations from New Hampshire artists and artisans – and beyond – for sale.

Popular vendors like Arbonne, Pampered Chef, Avon and LuLaRoe plan on having representatives there as well. And that’s just the few we pulled from the long list of vendors and businesses that will be on hand.

The Beaver Meadow PTO will be selling pizza and salad. There will also be a raffle fundraiser with items donated by local merchants to benefit Beaver Meadow School.

This is a public event and open to all ages.

East Congregational

A holiday fair will be held at the East Concord church on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair will feature handmade crafts, a bake sale, deli delights, collectibles, jewelry, attic treasures, books, gently used clothes, a silent auction and themed raffle baskets.

Tickets will be available for two finely handcrafted quilts. A lunch of corn chowder, hot dogs and homemade desserts will be for sale.

The church is located at 51 Mountain Road, just three-tenths of a mile north of I-93’s Exit 16, and is wheelchair accessible. For more information, call 224-9242 or go to eastchurchucc.org.

Bow Mills

Bow Mills will host its annual snowman craft fair on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to begin the spirit of Christmas shopping.

For your shopping pleasure, there will be rooms filled with holiday crafts, handmade items to wear or to use in your home, more than 90 themed gift baskets, special gifts for pet owners, homemade pies, candies, baked goods and much more at the bakery table.

The Bow Mills famous cookie walk will satisfy your sweet tooth, while you enjoy some time spent decorating a cookie. Bid on some silent auction items and plan to check out the jewelry table and the Christmas elf room for the kids.

Relax in the tea room either before or after you have enjoyed the fair. Enjoy new added menu items for the morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and lunch time, served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Granite Ledges

The 17th annual holiday craft fair at Granite Ledges will happen this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will be more than 20 vendors will be on hand with a variety of crafts and products to help lighten your holiday shopping load.
