What do you know about flying space stuff?

The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center opened a new exhibit last Friday, Great Balls of Fire, and it’s got everything you’ve ever wanted to know about comets, asteroids and meteors. The highly interactive exhibit, which is open through April 30, will definitely make the learning experience that much more enjoyable. There’s tons of fun facts – including a theory of what really happened to the dinosaurs and when to expect the next Halley’s Comet – and you can also enter in your town or any city in the world to see what would happen if an asteroid or comet hit it. Take a trip to an asteroid aboard Asteroid Encounter (top left), see what kind of impact you can make with this contraption (top right) or learn about how the size of the crater compares to what made it (above). But don’t just take our word for it – go check it out on your own. The Discovery Center is open Friday through Sunday, 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
