Abbot-Downing to host benefit sorcery show

Stephanie Bates, mother of three, Abbot-Downing School educator and all-around friend of the community, recently received the diagnosis of ALS. As part of the school’s fundraising efforts, there’s going to be a fun event for the whole family, a Magical Extravaganza, on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Abbot-Downing School, in support of “Stephanie Spirit.”

At the show, you’ll see world-class magicians Jon Stetson, Mike Bent, David Garritty and Bob Riordan. With the help of these international performers in the world of illusion, magic and comedy, the school is hoping to raise a lot of money for Bates’s ongoing medical needs.

In addition, the Andrew Riordan Jazz Project will also perform a little pre-show at 1 p.m., so you can get the juices flowing ahead of the wizardry.

This is perfect family entertainment, with food, raffles and many other magical treats.

Tickets can be purchased at the Abbot-Downing School office for $10 each.
