Christmas is Friday, that’s what’s up

Santa Claus is coming to eat your cookies!

Tuesday

Looking for something fresh and new to give as a gift this year? Head on down to Susana’s Sewing Studio (26 Warren St.) for Alternative Fashion’s Holiday Pop-Up Shop from 4 to 7 p.m. You’ll find some one-of-a-kind clothing that you won’t have to worry about that special someone already having in their closet.

Wednesday

If you’re looking for that one final gift for that oh-so-hard to shop for relative, but haven’t had any luck in the stores we’ve got an idea – make your own. The Concord Public Library is hosting a DIY (that stands for do-it-yourself) fireplace craft from 11 a.m. to noon. It’s supposed to be for the kids, but just bring a child along and you can probably join in the fun, too. It could make a great late addition to the tree, part of a bigger gift or something you can use to hold a gift. The possibilities are really endless.

If you don’t have kids or one to help make the fireplace craft, adult coloring is taking place at the Heights Community Center at 9:30 a.m. Just imagine the look on (fill in the blank’s) face when they see your carefully colored nativity scene or Christmas tree that will look so nice on their fridge.

Thursday

It’s Christmas Eve so you’re not going to find a lot of events happening, but there’s still lots to do. Most churches in the area will be holding a Christmas Eve service if that’s part of your holiday tradition or one you’d like to start. And you can’t forget about those last minute stocking stuffers your still need to buy. Good luck finding a parking space. There’s also almost always presents to wrap, food to prepare and cookies to make for when Santa makes his way down you chimney. And if he doesn’t eat them all, send them on over to us.

Friday

Merry Christmas! It’s a day to be with family, eat lots of food and enjoy all the holiday season has to offer. We sure do hope Santa is good to everyone and somehow the weather reports are wrong and snow eventually makes it’s way into the forecast. Unfortunately we’re not looking so lucky, but who really wants snow on Christmas besides us and just about everyone else in the world?

Saturday/Sunday

If you don’t quite feel like battling the crowds to return that pink and purple sweater you dear Aunt Mildred got you, we suggest (if you’re not working) to take the time to relax after a busy couple weeks. You’ve earned it and really, so have we.
