You smell that? That’s the sweet aroma of Market Days

Don’t look now, but – wait, actually now would be a pretty good time to look. Because if you’re not paying attention, you might miss Market Days. And we simply can’t have that.

Yeah, we know, we thought it was in July, too. It usually is. But because of the downtown construction on the Main Street project, everyone’s favorite street fair is moving to a new month this summer. We hope you’re ready, because it starts this Thursday!

Don’t worry, though, all your favorite activities are still jam-packed into the three-day extravaganza that will be held Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day. In fact, there’s even a bunch of new stuff to check out.

Like the Touch-A-Truck feature at the north end of the festival, where people can get up-close-and-personal with some heavy machinery; or the Concord Coaches that will be on display at the State House Plaza from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every day (weather permitting).

Also, the popular bike valet will be located near the Concord Co-op and operate with longer hours: Noon to 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Otherwise all the classics are back, including the Homegrown Stage in Bicentennial Square and the stage in Eagle Square, both of which churn out tons of tantalizing tunes, and Intown Concord said there are more vendors on the street this year than ever before.

There won’t be any construction during the event, but be mindful of the terrain when walking. It’s different than before, and we don’t want any stubbed toes.

Intown Concord has made this one of Concord’s true can’t miss events every year, and this summer you just get to dig it a little early.
