There’s so much local talent in this room it nearly blew the roof off the place (note: that was actually just wind). But you can see the fruits of everyone in this room’s labor at the annual Locally Famous Art Auction as part of Intown Concord’s annual meeting March 19 at the Kimball-Jenkins Estate.

Remember last year when Intown Concord somehow talked Keith into making a painting for its annual Locally Famous Art Auction? Yeah, we’ve pretty much repressed that memory, too. Well don’t worry, you won’t be distracted by any attempts at Insider-staff created paintings this year. But you can see some pretty great stuff from a bunch of other Concord celebrities!

March 19, Intown Concord and its board of directors invites downtown enthusiasts to Intown’s Annual Meeting and Locally Famous Art Auction from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Carriage House at Kimball-Jenkins Estate, 266 N. Main St. The evening is about celebrating and recognizing the work and efforts of inpiduals and businesses who contributed in unique and meaningful ways to our downtown during 2014, and through their efforts ensured that downtown Concord is a vibrant place to do business, work, dine and enjoy. Attendees will have a chance to connect with fellow downtown Concord devotees, while being treated to delicious food from Wellington’s, Tandy’s Top Shelf, and The Crust and Crumb. There will also be complimentary beverages, the jazz/swing stylings of local musician Kenny Weiland and the presentation of the Community Impact Awards.

Additionally, Sarah Chaffee of McGowan Fine Art returns as auctioneer for Intown Concord’s 4th Locally Famous Art Auction. A matchless collection of paintings depicting Concord’s charm has been created especially for this event. Any Concord aficionado will want to grace his or her home or office with these one-of-a-kind pieces by Gary and Wayner Miller, Liz MacBride, Kristin Kennedy, Teeny Sherman, Byron Champlin, Mary Ruedig, Matt Walsh, Janet King, Holly Ramer, Rebecca Ackerly and others. Special thanks to Ryan Linehan and Lee Roy Johnson of Kimball-Jenkins School of Art for hosting our painters and offering instruction. Tickets to the Annual General Meeting are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. For more information or to buy tickets online, go to intownconcord.org. Proceeds directly support Intown Concord’s events, programs and initiatives in downtown Concord.
