Has anyone checked on Mrs. Gallo to make sure someone took her down? That looks like a lot of tape!

Talk about living the dream at school. Duct-taping the principal to a wall? Who among us hasn’t thought about it? It’s almost the perfect crime, since by taping the principal to the wall, he or she obviously wouldn’t be available for the inevitable ensuing meeting in his or her office.

Anyway, now that we’ve freely admitted how much we think about these things, let’s talk about how students at the Christa McAuliffe School actually got to do it – and it was officially sanctioned! As part of a fifth grade fundraiser for Paul Bourassa’s class gardening project, students were able to purchase strips of duct tape for $1 each and add them to the pile. Principal Kristen Gallo was then fastened to the wall of the cafeteria during the school’s lunch periods.

Was it worth it? Students raised a total of $320. But the real value was in sticking it to the man, and that’s impossible to put a value on.
