ConcordTV is giving seniors the opportunity to star in a movie

Are you a senior citizen? Concord Community TV invites you to be part of a special project called “Seniors of Concord: Sharing Memories, Wisdom and Wishes.”

The city of Concord will be celebrating its 250th anniversary next year. Concord TV is planning to capture the voices of Concord on video as one of our contributions to the celebration. And we’re starting with the voices of our senior citizens. We are looking for 25-30 inpiduals who want to be part of this legacy gift to the city and its next generations.

Here’s how it will work:
ConcordTV will set up a time/day to interview seniors who have some connection to Concord (live in Concord, raised family here, worked or volunteer in Concord, etc).

Private interviews will be taped in five-minute sessions at our Heights Community Center Studio in February. ConcordTV staff will brief each person by phone prior to the taping.

All interviews will be edited in a one-hour film that will be able to be seen by all participants – and will be open to the public – at a movie screening event that will be held in late March. Date and time to be announced.

After the screening, the film will air on ConcordTV channels and will be uploaded to YouTube for the public to enjoy.

A DVD of the film will be archived at ConcordTV and presented to the Concord 250 committee for future generations to enjoy.

For more information, or to be part of the film, contact Doris Ballard at 226-8872 or email her at doris@yourconcordtv.org.

In other news, who do you know that’s fascinating in Concord? ConcordTV is looking for eight of Concord’s most fascinating inpiduals to feature during its 8-hour livetelecast of Concord On Air, that will be broadcast on Concord’s three local cable channels April 6 from noon to 8 p.m.

Who can be considered fascinating? Think of an eclectic mix of captivating people from the greater Concord area who are prominent names (or work quietly behind the scenes) in the fields of politics, entertainment, sports, economic development, popular culture, philanthropy, civic pride, entertainment and beyond.

Deadline for nominations is Monday, March 3. Names of inpiduals selected will be announced March 28. Nomination application forms can be found on ConcordTV’s website at yourconcordtv.org. For more information, contact Doris Ballard at 226-8872, or email doris@yourconcordtv.org.
