How old are you? What town do you live in? Where do you work?

I’m 33 years old, I live in Contoocook, and I work for New Hampshire Public Radio.*

How did you find out about CYPN and how has it benefitted your business or you personally?

I started attending CYPN events in 2010 when I started working at NHPR.  I wanted to be part of a group that would help me become more integrated into the community. I grew up in the area, but after being away for many years, didn’t have the same connections as I did growing up.  Since I had bought a home and started a family here, I wanted to really feel like this was home and there were things here I could get involved with.

It has been a great connection both personally and professionally, I have made many friends and have turned many of them into active volunteers for NHPR!   It has helped me create connections for my husband’s pottery business, Boyan Pottery, and I have found many ways to get involved in the Concord community.

Favorite food?

I’ll pretty much eat anything, so hard to say a favorite. Anything warm and delish usually does the trick.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Hang out with my kid, who’s awesome and hilarious. Travel. Read. Been on a health kick this last year, so the gym has become an important part of my life, and I love it. Ride my bike. Eat. My husband is an amazing cook, so we really enjoy making yummy dinners and having our friends and family over.

Favorite movie of all time?

Amelie. Love the story. Love her cute little hair cut and amazing outfits. Love the music. Love the scenery. Love the traveling garden gnome. It’s just dreamy all around.

What is one of your life goals?

To ride the Trans-Siberian Railway.

What has been your favorite CYPN event so far?

At NHPR of course!  NHPR has hosted CYPN a couple times and it’s always a great experience. We meet so many people who love the station and are excited to see what we do.  We love showing off our state-of-the-art studios, so it’s wonderful to get a big group of excited YP’s here for the event. Last year was particularly fun because two of my colleagues were working on stories and were able to grab a few people who came to the event to record some sound-bites from them. Now when I hear Nathalia say “these are the stations of New Hampshire Public Radio” on the air, it makes me smile because she recorded that when she was here for a CYPN event!

Favorite rock star?

Ani DiFranco. Fell in love with her in high school, and she’ll just always be my favorite rock star of all time.

If you could visit any country, where would you go?

Well this could be the hardest question so far!  So many places!!  I’ve not been to Asia or South America yet, so I’d want to check out something on either of those continents.  I’ve always had a dream of visiting Mongolia, something about staying in a ger (yurt) in that majestic countryside has always been appealing. Pretty sure I need to visit Russia at some point and get one of those big fur hats. These are things I can do if I hit that life goal of riding the Trans-Siberian Railway; I need to get on that!

Which famous person would you really like to meet?

Paris Hilton. I mean, she’s famous for nothing and I think it would make me laugh a lot if I met her in person.

Tell us three interesting facts about yourself!

I did the Peace Corps and lived in Bulgaria for two years. I once rode my bike from the New Hampshire/Canadian border to the New Hampshire/Massachusetts border (took three days). I whitewater rafted down the Nile in Uganda, and it was wicked.

*Speaking of NHPR, Anna and her amazing colleagues will be hosting this month’s CYPN networking on May 15 at the NHPR Studios at 2 Pillsbury St. It’s free, and you can tour the studios, have some great appetizers and beverages, and meet some of the radio personalities you have come to know on air.
