Granite State Reading Council celebrates Literacy Day

The Granite State Reading Council of the International Reading Association will be celebrating New Hampshire’s sixth official Literacy Day on April 13 by conducting a Festival of Literacy at the Merrimack Valley Middle and High Schools in Penacook, at the Littleton High School Technology Center and at Nashua High School North. This free event will involve parents, children, authors, illustrators, teachers and other professionals involved in promoting literacy. The celebration will take place between 9 a.m. and noon.

Because of generous donations from businesses, organizations, and community volunteers, families throughout the state are invited to attend this free event. The celebration will involve a plethora of activities, all promoting reading and writing. Our live animal presentations, hands-on exhibits, bat-box building, face-painting and Elmo are only some of the exciting activities planned for the morning. Free books and free healthy snacks are available to everyone! Plenty of parking is also available.
