Remembrance of Things Paris: Sixty Years of Writing from ‘Gourmet’

Edited by Ruth Reichl

2005, 368 pages

This ebook includes the “cream” of the essays about Paris and its food from the writers of Gourmet over 60 years. It starts with articles bemoaning the lack of meat on the menus right after World War II, and continues through the years with wonderful descriptions of meals and restaurants in Paris; it even includes some recipes. It also covers other things about Paris, including flower markets, chocolate shops, and haute couture. For anyone who loves food or Paris, this is a charming and nostalgic read.
