Concord Hospital Payson Center for Cancer Care’s Anticancer Lifestyle Program received a $1,200 contribution from Lisa Wylie, independent associate representing Aflac. The contribution will provide scholarship support for cancer survivors interested in attending the 12-week Anticancer Lifestyle Program.
The Anticancer Lifestyle Program, designed by staff of the Payson Center for Cancer Care, is an innovative program for people diagnosed with cancer. Evidence exists that a healthy diet, adequate physical activity, lowered exposure to toxins, social support, and stress management all help to maximize the body’s natural defenses against cancer. The goal of the Anticancer Lifestyle Program is to encourage cancer patients to be proactive participants in their own well-being and to restore a sense of control while living with this disease.
“I am very grateful to be able to offer scholarship support to cancer patients whose financial resources may have been drained by cancer,” says Wylie. “Since 1958, Aflac has been paying cash benefits to policyholders diagnosed and treated for cancer, and we are well aware of the financial impact this disease has on inpiduals and families.”
