A host of holiday shows

This week – and every week of the year – Concord City Auditorium is grateful for this wonderful community which supports and shares the opportunities our theatre offers us all. The pleasure of your company will brighten these upcoming holiday events. Please come enjoy the following:

∎ 7th annual Holiday Spectacular presented by Cindy Flanagan’s Concord Dance Academy, Dec. 1 at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. and Dec. 2 at 1 p.m. The beautiful program of music and dance benefits the Friendly Kitchen, Toys for Tots, and Audi upgrades. Tickets are $12 at the door. For more information, call 226-0200. Sunday show features pre-show pictures with Santa. Please share the giving spirit and bring a new toy or canned goods.

∎ The Holiday Open House welcomes everyone as the Friends of the Audi host a true Pot luck supper, Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. It starts with the famous Audi Punch, the community supper and a short meeting, and then a preview of Believe! coming next weekend. Call 225-7474 for more.

∎ Believe! – The Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish returns to the Audi and fills the house with beautiful music and a snowfall Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. as Brian Waldron leads a cast of 40 choristers celebrating both the North Pole spirit and the reason for the season, including the parish’s traditional Nativity pageant. Tickets are $10 at the Rectory and the door, with proceeds to benefit the IHM Music Ministry. For more info, call 856-3420.

∎ The Holiday Pops Concert of the Granite State Symphony Orchestra, Dec. 9 at 3 p.m., is a special treat. Families sing along with the orchestra and enjoy the Penacook and Loudon Elementary School choruses and a bearded guest conductor in a bright red suit. Tickets are $20 at Pompanoosuc Mills and at the door. For more info, call 226-4776.

∎ A Christmas present for Concord – two Nutcracker ballets! New Hampshire School Of Ballet presents an enchanting full production of the holiday classic, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 at Gibson’s Bookstore and the door. For more info, call 668-5330. And Turning Pointe Center Of Dance presents its 30th annual family-friendly performance of the season’s signature show Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 at The UPS Store and the door. ∎ Amahl and the Night Visitors, Dec. 22 at 7 p.m. As a holiday gift to the community, All Saints Anglican Church presents Menotti’s beautiful operatic story, with Christopher Martinez singing the role of Amahl and Jane Cormier as Mother. No charge, no tickets. Just come and be treated to a beautiful performance. For more, call 781-5695.

And please remember to help assure everyone in our community has a happy holiday season, this month and all through the year, bring your canned goods, new toys, and old eyeglasses when you come to Audi shows. The collection boxes in the entrance lobby are shared with local pantries and the Lions Club Eyesight Project.
