IT trends seminar

The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce invites chamber members to a member-led seminar as part of the chamber's member-led “Business Builder” workshop series. The seminar, “Nine IT Trends Every Manager Needs to Know,” will be held Sept. 18 from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 172 N. Main St. There is no cost for chamber members to attend the seminar, but pre-registration is required.

“Nine IT Trends Every Manager Needs to Know” offers a “non-tech speak” explanation of the most relevant new technologies, the advantages and disadvantages of each, and how to know if they're right for your particular business or nonprofit. Since leveraging technology effectively is becoming ever more important to an organization's success, it is critical for business owners, managers, and nonprofit directors to understand how newer technologies can be used most effectively for their organizations. However, it can be difficult to keep up with all of the techy terminology and IT buzzwords, so this seminar is designed to provide a straight talk explanation of relevant tech buzzwords such as “cloud hosting,” “virtualization,” “VOIP,” “convergence,” and several others. Participants will learn the pros and cons of each of these technologies to help them determine which would be the best for their organization. Presenter Ryan Barton is the president of Mainstay Technologies, an IT consulting and engineering firm specializing in providing the services of a full IT department to businesses, nonprofits, and municipalities throughout Northern New England.
