Astronomy bowl

New Hampshire's sixth annual Astronomy Bowl will take place on March 31 at the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center. Applications for Astronomy Bowl participants are due by March 9 and can be downloaded at starhop.com.

The Astronomy Bowl is a statewide competition for high school students to compete by answering questions about constellations, planets, stars and other objects projected in the Discovery Center's state-of-the-art planetarium. The top three Astronomy Bowl winners will receive silver commemorative “astronomy” bowls and scholarship prizes that can be used towards higher education.

The scholarships will be formally presented at Aerospacefest, a two-day event taking place May 4-5 at the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center. The winners will also receive special recognition at the State House from Gov. John Lynch and the members of the Executive Council. For more information, visit starhop.com.
