For the fourth year in a row, Concord will have a shelter available for families experiencing homelessness during the winter season.
Granite United Way serves as the fiscal agent for the shelter that is led by David Keller with assistance from Jennifer Wozmak.
The goal is to open the shelter before the Christmas holiday. The program will depend heavily on volunteers, serving guests in four shifts: morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight.
Training for those interested in volunteering will take place at West Congregational Church, 499 N. State St., on Dec. 13. There will be two training sessions: 1:30 – 4 p.m. and 6:30 – 9 p.m.
Those interested in volunteering should send an email to concordfamilyshelter@gmail.com. A response will be sent with an application form.
Donations of necessary supplies and food will be appreciated once an opening date for the shelter is announced.
