City Briefly

Each week, City Manager Tom Aspell goes down to the City Hall boiler room, puts on his striped sweater and fedora and then runs off into the night to terrorize the dreams of promiscuous teenagers. Then, he shows up at our front steps and scratches out a city memo on our door with his Freddy Krueger finger knives. This week was no exception.

The crews of the Manor fire station are working with 40 photography students from Merrimack Valley High School on a project that involves capturing photo images of patterns and shapes in the fire station environment. The students have photographed everything from firefighters' turnout gear to the pump controls on fire engines to the windows in the overhead doors. Station captain Jeff Stone has also worked with the students on the uses of photography in the fire service and public safety career fields.
