Drivers needed

Access to basic and essential services can be challenging for residents who are unable to obtain reliable transportation due to age, disability or other limiting circumstances. The Community Action Program Belknap-Merrimack Counties volunteer driver program is a new program providing expanded access to transportation. Volunteer drivers provide door-to-door service as well as feeder service to public transportation services.

If you are over 21, with a dependable and insured vehicle and a valid New Hampshire driver's license, you could be eligible to receive mileage reimbursement for taking a program member shopping or to an appointment. You can volunteer often or on only a few occasions. Serving as a volunteer driver may be a rewarding experience for you, as well as the recipient. To learn more about this new program, please contact volunteer coordinator Susan Jutras at 224-8043 or email her at sjutras@bm-cap.org.
