Letters to the Insider

Dear Insiders,

I worked at Rich's Department Store for 16 of the 18 years it was open. I took a chance at opening my own clothing store, and when that didn't work out, I was welcomed back into the company.

During the time I worked there, my father died, and my brother was in a devastating accident. The company, management and the people I worked with were amazing, and very accomodating to my needs at these trying times.

I also made the most wonderful friends within my fellow employees.

One of these people and her entire family remain my best friends to this day.

And, of course, the customers; we all had our favorites – hello, Mrs. Knippers! And, of course, our least favorites. Even when dealing with the most trying customers, there was always another one behind them that made you feel better, and made you smile.

I still miss going to work at Rich's, and I miss the people, both employees and customers.

Thank you, Insider, for bringing back the memories!
