Video contest

The Concord Public Library Foundation is holding a contest for area students to create a short, public service video promoting the library's 2011 summer reading program “One World, Many Stories.” The summer reading program begins on June 27 and offers participants the opportunity to travel the world through music, crafts, games, and, of course, books! The summer reading program will run for 6 weeks.

Students in grades K through 12 are encouraged to submit videos of three minutes or less, on DVD, to the circulation desk at the library. Submission deadline is May 31. Entrants of any age are welcome, but must be currently enrolled in school at any level. The winner of the contest will receive $100.

The winner will be announced June 6 and the winning video will be shown on Concord TV and at the Red River Theatre.

Anyone interested in creating a video and who wants to learn about videography can join Concord TV for a free training and use of equipment. Contact Doris Ballard at 226-8872.

For questions about the contest, please contact Tenley Callaghan at tcallaghan@rccmlaw.com or 230-2901.
