So much Concord-area goodness, so little time

How much Cappie goodness could a person jam into a single day? How many of these winners could you experience from sunrise to sunset? The Insiders were curious, so we sketched out a schedule for the best day ever.

We haven’t tried this out ourselves – we don’t have a big enough expense account – but maybe one of you will. Let us know how it goes. (Sigh.)

Morning

You head to the gym before anything else. You’ll be doing a lot of eating today. So jump in your car (the one you just purchased from Grappone) and head off to Planet Fitness for some crunches.

On the way, you’ll probably turn on the radio to listen to your favorite station, NHPR. If it’s a weekday, you’ll even be able to listen to favorite host, Laura Knoy.

You work out for 30 minutes or so, working up a sweat and an appetite. Okay, you actually only work out 15 minutes. But you promise to do more tomorrow.

Now it’s time for breakfast. You go to the Corner View Restaurant for your choice of morning fare. If you’re looking for brunch instead, you can stop by the Red Blazer. Perhaps you could have both – after all, it is your best day ever.

But wait a second. You need some cash on hand to make it through this day of food and fun. So you run by Merrimack County Savings Bank to make a withdrawal.

Afternoon

Your guests – did we mention some old friends are visiting? – have become antsy. Perhaps you should have brought them along for the breakfast, but you needed that time for yourself.
So you take them to Main Street for a downtown stroll. After enjoying a bit of window shopping, you take them to the town’s best museum, the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center, for a jaunt through the stars.

Minds suitably blown, it’s time for lunch. You go to In a Pinch for the town’s best. But a delicious meal doesn’t quite satisfy your cravings. You take your crew to Bread & Chocolate for bonus dessert. And what luck! Bread & Chocolate is right next to Gibson’s Bookstore. You pick up a new read for your nightstand.

Late afternoon stretches in front of you. Your guests feel like some luxury, so you take them to Serendipity Day Spa for massages. Feeling pallid, you enjoy the rays at Turbo Tan.
Whew! Who knew the best day ever would be so exhausting?

Evening

Shadows are lengthening, so it’s time to think about your evening. You drop your guests back at the Centennial Hotel, where they’ve been staying, and pick up your sweetheart from work. Time for a night on the town.

Actually, you have to pick up a prescription first. So you drop by CVS while your sweetheart waits in the car, eating an ice cream cone from Arnie’s Place.

When you come back, you’re informed that the car was making a funny noise. You make a note to visit Weed Family Automotive in the morning.

The two of you catch the latest indie flick at Red River Theatres, and then it’s time to eat. You’re in the mood for takeout, so you suggest grabbing a pu pu platter from Tea Garden. Your sweetheart wants some sushi from Moritomo. You compromise with top-notch fried fare at the Weathervane Seafood Restaurant.

But the evening isn’t over. You visit the Barley House to catch jamAntics, your favorite local, original band.

On the way home, you realize how much you didn’t do. You didn’t unleash creativity at Bead It. You should have picked up some flowers for your sweetie at Cobblestone Design. And what about buying a bottle of vino from the New Hampshire Liquor and Wine Outlet?
Oh well. Sounds like you’ll have to make tomorrow the best day ever, too.
