City Manager Tom Aspell has some traffic news this week that may not come as much of a surprise: Ongoing roadwork may cause some delays. Here’s where to avoid:
Contractors are continuing work to install a new storm sewer trunk line and drainage structures on North State Street, which will affect traffic from Knight Street to Lake Street.
Traffic flow will be restricted to one lane in the area, so drivers should expect delays.
Also on North State Street: National Grid and R.H. White will continue with gas main and service relays. This will affect side roads as well.
In other road-related news, work to seal up cracks in Concord’s streets has started a few weeks earlier than scheduled.
Aspell tells us the contractor got a jumpstart on the work because of the nice weather. They’ll be sealing various roads and streets around the city as needed before final maintenance overlay can start. The seal helps preserve the roads by keeping water out of the cracks.

If you get as excited about flea markets and antique fairs as we do, you’ll be happy to know there’s one in Concord this weekend.
According to Aspell’s weekly memo, the fair starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday and goes until 3 p.m. at Everett Arena, 15 Loudon Road.

Get ready for camp
June will be here before you know it, which means one thing: summer camp.
Nearly 400 kids have registered for camp through the Recreation Department since its summer camp guide was distributed in March.
There are still a few slots left, so if you’re interested, check out the rec department’s online site: concordnh.gov/recreation. Registration can also be completed online.
