The Tweens responded to this question prior to the spring thaw we’re experiencing now, but we figured you would want to get your Tweens fix whether it was seasonally appropriate or not, so here you go!
Dear Tweens, This winter seems to just keep on coming. What do Tweens do to get through a long, drawn-out winter?
Matt Dube
Well, for tweens to get through a long winter, we talk to our friends and play games. You talk to your friends so you have fun; time is faster when you are having fun. Sometimes it is fun to get into a good game which is great. But be careful because you have schoolwork in winter. You don’t want to get behind. Don’t worry. Summer is on its way.

I do many things over a long drawn-out winter. I go to gymnastics four days a week at Flipz Gymnastics here in Concord. I also go sledding, snowboarding, and many other fun activities. I went to the aquarium with my cousins and went to the mall many times. Tweens have plenty of things to do over a long drawn-out winter.

Winter does seem to just keep on coming, doesn’t it? What I like to do to shake the “winter blues” is to just enjoy everything about winter and stay positive. Getting exercise in the winter may seem tough, but most sports meant for the cold are fun! Skiing, sledding, ice skating, and snowboarding are great ways to exercise and have fun outside. Indoor sports are great too, like soccer and basketball. Most of all, just stay positive. Spring will come soon, I guarantee it.

I don’t know about the other tweens, but I know I like to go skiing and snowboarding in the long, drawn-out winter. This year it hasn’t snowed much and we haven’t had but one snow day this year, so I can still go outside and play. I also like vacation planning, that just gives you more ways to look forward to a beautiful summer! Winter feels long, but I know it’s going to end soon.

Some tweens don’t like winter, especially me. But most tweens are sometimes busy, so they don’t really pay attention to the fact that it’s winter. They don’t have time to do anything in the snow. On the other hand, some tweens do have time to play in the snow, and they do decide to go outside.
Most tweens think that playing in the snow is for little kids. Those people can do other things like watch TV, go on the computer, or just do whatever they want.
