Snowflake ball returns

Come dance the night away under a winter sky at the Concord Family YMCA's largest and most celebrated fundraiser – the 21st annual Snowflake Ball, to be held on Saturday, Dec. 5. This fundraising event for the Kids Campaign hopes to raise $51,000 and entertain over 275 guests. All proceeds will directly enable the YMCA to continue offering financial assistance and scholarships to low income children, families and adults to provide opportunities for them to participate in YMCA programs and services including fitness, family and senior programs, child care, after school programs and summer day camps. No one is ever turned away due to the inability to pay.

The evening begins with each guest receiving their dance cards – a fun party favor for the evening. The evening's dance card will include our hosts and sponsors, songs to be played and evening schedule, but most important, the card will be used by women to record the names of the gentlemen with whom they intend to dance each successive dance at a ball.

This black-tie-optional ball will be an evening of socializing with people in the community you may not get to see every day, great food and late night dancing. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and dancing start at 8 p.m. with music provided by Club Soda. Complimentary photos will be provided by Concord Camera Store.

The Snowflake Ball is created and run by a dedicated team of volunteers from our community. Planning for the event begins in August and requires hundreds of working hours. It doesn't end until that night, when the gym has been transformed into a grand ballroom awaiting the arrival of guests. This is truly a remarkable transformation of the gym and should be seen and experienced by all.

Every year the Snowflake Ball receives financial support and in-kind support from inpidual and corporate sponsors, and this year has been no exception. We are pleased to announce that Merrimack County Savings Bank will be our host for the evening. Our champion sponsor this year is The Rowley Agency. The Community sponsors are: Affiliates in Podiatry, PC, Charter Trust Company, Quality Orthopaedic Care P.A., Hinckley, Allen & Snyder LLP, Jaguar Mining Inc., Magic Food Restaurant Group, McLane, Graf, Raulerson and Middleton P.A., Northeast Delta Dental, Nathan Wechsler & Co. P.A., and Pats Peak Ski Area. We thank all of our sponsors for their generous support and confidence in the YMCA's mission and support of the Kids Campaign.

Tickets for the event are $85 per person and must be purchased by Dec. 1.
