Bake a pie, win 50 bucks

To help you with your Thanksgiving baking, readers, we're holding out second annual pie bake-off. The stakes are higher this year, with a prize worth 50 smackaroos.

Here's how it works: We're looking for volunteers to bake their signature pie for our taste-test panel.

Participants need to deliver their pie and recipe to the Monitor building, off Sewalls Falls Road, on either Nov. 3, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., or on Nov. 4, 8 a.m.-noon.

Our panel will try each of the pies submitted and score them accordingly.

The highest-scoring pie will be declared the winner, and will receive a $50 gift certificate to any business of his or her choice in Concord. Anywhere! Think about the holiday shopping you could do!

Really, though, we're all winners in this contest, because we're also going to print all of the delectable recipes. That should give you plenty of inspiration when you plan your Thanksgiving desserts.

To enter the contest, or if you have a question, call Katie at 369-3378 or e-mail kmackenzie@theconcordinsider.com.

Here's some fine print: We're equal-opportunity pie eaters, so you do not have to live in Concord to enter. And there's no age limit, so if you're 12 and like to bake, you're in!

Also, if you entered last year, you are welcome to participate again.
