Take part in Electronics Recycling Day at NHTI!

NHTI’s Environmental Action Club is sponsoring an electronics recycling day on April 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a great opportunity to safely and responsibly dispose of your old electronics, including computers, monitors, TVs and more.

A truck will be stationed in NHTI’s parking lot B to collect your equipment.
There is no charge for computers, computer accessories and other electronics. A small fee of $8 to $12, depending on TV housing type will be charged for televisions. This fee will be waived for NHTI students with valid ID.

All electronics will be disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner. Working electronics will be donated to schools and organizations that partner with CRT Recycling, the event vendor.
Parts that are reclaimable (chips, wires, glass) will be reused in its component forms. All non-reusable parts will be shredded and recycled.

Monitors and televisions are 100 percent recycled in an environmentally safe manner in compliance with New Hampshire state law that bans its disposal in landfills and incinerators. None are shipped to foreign countries where waste is often uncontrolled or poorly regulated. Hard drives that are removed will be shredded at CRT Recycling’s facility in Brockton, Mass.

For questions about this activity, contact Ruth Heath at rheath@ccsnh.edu or 271-7722.
