What’s your favorite thing about Market Days?
The food, because I don’t usually eat junk food. I like coming down for a little bit of junk food and just walking around and seeing so many people in the middle of the street. It’s kind of like being in a bigger city, only it’s right here in Concord.
Any sales you like to look for?
I do look for sales. I don’t always find them, but I certainly look for them.
Did you go to Old Fashioned Bargain Days as a child?
I did, and I actually performed as a child with my dance class occasionally. I did ballet, and I also did tap.

What do you remember about Market Days last year?
The food – the smell of the sausage grinders and onions and peppers. Also, the big bunch of french fries that I ate. And I’d come out at break and have an ice cream or lemonade. That was always good.
Anything you would change about Market Days?
The only thing I think – and this is probably something they couldn’t change – but when it’s hot, you could fry an egg on Main Street. You know what I mean? It’s just too hot to walk around. But other than that, I only go for the food and people watching.

What do you look forward to most about Market Days?
Good weather . . . a lack of humidity, obviously a lack of rain, lack of any major unexpected hurricane events that knock our tents down, which tends to happen at least one of the three days on Market Days.

Probably just shoes because usually they are really expensive.
Anything you would change about Market Days?
More variety of just different things because sometimes it seems like middle-aged kids, like 13-15, they don’t have too much fun, you know.

What is your favorite thing about Market Days?
The people you might not have seen in a long time and saying hello and getting greeted by people you’ve worked with and known for a long time. It’s always a great place to see people on Main Street anyway, but that’s particularly fun.
What would you change about Market Days?
Maybe advertise it a little bit more and get it to Storrs Street so it sort of spills over Main Street a little bit.
Any special memories of the event?
Walking down the street with my son and his friends and having just a great old time talking to people and seeing him develop a pride in where he’s from. . . . That was one of the happiest moments I think I’ve ever had at Market Days.
