Go fish . . . for free!

Free fishing day will be here on June 5, so make plans to get out and cast a line with family and friends on New Hampshire's ponds, streams, rivers and lakes. Residents and nonresidents can fish any inland water in New Hampshire that day without a fishing license.

Note that season dates, bag limits and all other fishing regulations must be followed. Anglers fishing for brood stock Atlantic salmon in the Merrimack and lower Pemigewasset rivers must have a fishing license and a special permit.

For specific details on fishing rules, consult the 2010 New Hampshire Freshwater Fishing Digest available at fishnh.com or wherever fishing licenses are sold.
