Community luncheon

Kathrine Switzer, best known as the woman who challenged the all-male tradition of the Boston Marathon and became the first woman to officially enter and run the event in 1967, will deliver the keynote address at the annual Women Building Community Luncheon on Oct. 10 at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester.

The Women Building Community Luncheon is presented by the Women's Fund of New Hampshire, the United Ways of New Hampshire, and the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. The event is sponsored by Citizens Bank.

Tickets are $35 per person and tables of eight are $280. The luncheon is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. For more information and to order tickets, call 603-226-3355 or visit wfnh.org.

Switzer is an Emmy award-winning TV commentator and has covered the Olympic Games, World and National Championships as well as the New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles and every televised edition of the Boston Marathon (34 consecutive years!)
