Ask the Tweens: Book recommendations

Dear Tweens, Do you read a lot? What is the best book you have read this year, and who would you suggest it to?

Harpreet Kaur
I don’t read much, but the best book I’ve read this year is “Switched” by Jessica Wallman. I would suggest this book to my cousin, Puja, because she reads a lot and she likes mostly fantasy. Even though this book is about two girls who switch places, she still might like it.

Lexie Perlow
Yes, I do read quite a lot. I usually try to read about half an hour a day, not including school. The best book I’ve read this year is “Catching Fire,” sequel to “The Hunger Games.” It is action-packed and really makes you think about how oppressing people will only end in revolt. I would recommend it to anyone age 10 and up because once you’re old enough to read it, it’s fantastic!

Emily Hewey
I do read a little. Mostly when I’m bored or I have to. But I do read at my house on the weekend, if I’m not busy.
The book that I like the most from this year is “Rules.” I would suggest it to my mom because I think she would like that kind of book. I also would recommend it to her because I think she is like the mom in the book.

Nate Hollins
Well, first of all, I don’t read a lot, but I do like to read. It depends what kind of book I have. I personally love mystery and adventure. I think the best book I’ve read this year is “Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.” I’m only half way through the book, but I love it. I recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery, adventure and a book that you can’t put down. I also recommend that you see the movie.
