12 Bites of Christmas

Celebrate the holidays in good taste at the Concord Food Co-op’s 12 Bites of Christmas event Dec. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. This event offers the community an enjoyable, affordable night out as well as an opportunity to taste the persity of catering skills available at the Co-op. The exclusive, ticketed event will show off the talents of the Co-op’s award-winning Celery Stick Café. Get great ideas and taste the delicious catering options that the Café has available for your holiday shindig.

“The menu features 12 tantalizing takes on the 12 Days of Christmas,” explains Executive Chef Mike Cook. Each bite corresponds creatively with a line in the classic holiday song and will be presented to guests in order.

“This is the best menu ever,” said General Manager Paula Harris.

Attendees will delight in the first dish of a granola bark with pear cream (Partridge in a Pear Tree), followed by a turtle dove ice cream bar (Two Turtle Doves). Other dishes include Frenched chicken (Three French Hens), poached-fried duck eggs (Eight Geese a Laying), olives stuffed with bird peppers and cheese (Five Calling Birds), and the final seared scallops with chive sticks (Twelve Drummers Drumming).

The Concord Chorale will present live fa-la-la music for attendees, and the event will be accompanied by a free wine tasting.

This special holiday event will raise funds for the Concord-Merrimack County SPCA. There will be a $10 ticket charge for non Co-op members. Co-op members are encouraged to make a donation the evening of the gala. The Co-op’s wildly popular foodie events attract approximately 12,000 people annually. Twelve Bites of Christmas is limited to just 150 ticket holders. Members and nonmembers alike must RSVP and get a ticket to guarantee a space! Call 225-6840 or email info@concordfoodcoop.coop.

The Café was named New Hampshire’s Best Healthy Lunch by Best of New Hampshire as well as one of the best caterers in Concord by the Capital Area People’s Preference Awards.
