Concord makes it easy for Instagram users

No, this isn’t some couple’s private photo that was never meant to get out on the internet, despite how it may look. It’s actually a shot taken at the Concord Family YMCA right before last week’s Walk A Mile In Her Shoes event in downtown Concord, posted to Instagram by user @corkandcronin. Last Wednesday’s event, which featured men donning high heels and other women’s footwear, helped promote awareness and prevention of domestic and sexual abuse for the Crisis Center of Central New Hampshire. The award for biggest individual fundraiser went to Concord police Officer Dana Dexter, who raised $2,850. Grappone Auto won for biggest team fundraiser at $6,250. St. Paul’s School won for biggest team, and the award for best shoe went to Ryan Sahr of Concord. Instagram user @corkandcronin

There have been some pretty nice sunsets around here this summer, and there’s no shortage of photos on Instagram to prove it. We liked this one, by user @michaelpmurphy, taken at the community gardens on Clinton Street. Something about the sky, the old bike with the box on the back and the floral surroundings just gives a quintessential New England summer feel, don’t you think? Instagram user @michaelpmurphy

We see a lot of nice landscape shots on Instagram, but sometimes one catches our eye more than the rest. This here is exactly one of those shots. User @tluziphoto – whose IG page is a goldmine of landscape and architectural photography – captured this long-exposure shot of the Merrimack River from the Interstate 93 bridge near NHTI. He was even nice enough to list all the settings he used on his camera (for instance, he used a shutter speed of about 2 minutes on this one, he says), so you can try to replicate it yourself, if you think you’re up to it. Nice shot, @tluziphoto! Instagram user @tluziphoto

Instagram user @tkc2000 took this cool shot of a snow-canopied street in Concord. Those sparkly white limbs really make the whole scene pop, don’t they? Also, disclaimer: The “Insider” does not condone taking photos while driving – but if you’re riding shotgun or pulled over, have at it. Include a #concordnh tag so we can find it, and if you’re in a really giving mood, go ahead and throw #concordinsider in there, too.

Every month, we search Instagram for impressive shots of Concord to share with all of you. And since this is the Year in Review Issue, we figured why not bring a few of the best ones back for a little photo spread. You’re welcome!
