There’s a pretty cool art show going on just this week, and you should definitely check it out.

As part of National Welcoming Week, Welcoming Concord is hosting an exhibit of artwork created by new American artists, along with artwork that celebrates the diversity of the Concord community. But it’s only this week, so don’t wait.

The show is at both Creating CommUnity, located a 18 N. Main St., Suite 206, and Red River Theatres. Featured artwork at Creating CommUNITY includes: Paintings by Iraqi artist Saad Hindal (top left), paintings by Turkish high school artist Meliha Ulker (bottom left), modern African style clothing designed and created by Burundian artist Emelyne Adios (top right), photography by Becky Field, Temple drawings by elder members of the Bhutanese community, Multicultural Festival photo display by Mulberry Creek Imagery, Somayeh Kashi (bottom right), and I-Workz Photography. Red River has caricatures of Hollywood celebrities drawn by Javier Prawl, and I-Workz Photography Multicultural Festival photos.

The show will be open at Creating CommUNITY, which just secured the space on North Main on Aug. 1, Tuesday at noon, Wednesday at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Thursday at 2 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The Red River selections are available for viewing when the theater is open through Sunday.
