Cheers sure isn’t going to let that fancy new patio go to waste in the cold months. They’ve got a big Christmas tree right in the middle, complete with lights, and the gate surrounding the area is wrapped in garland and adorned with wreaths. (JON BODELL / Insider staff)

At Little River Oriental Rugs, it’s a very cutesy-themed display, featuring a pair of smaller trees, a snowman and several pairs of elves (not real ones, of course, but little statues). (JON BODELL / Insider staff)

Around this time last year, we drove all over the city looking for some of the biggest, wildest, weirdest and generally most impressive light and decoration displays we could find on people’s houses. This year, in the spirit of always keeping you guessing, we decided to see what local businesses had going on (which is good, since a lot of house displays are still popping up at this point). As it turns out, we barely had to step outside of the downtown core. City merchants seem to be taking things seriously this year, so we took some pictures of some of the more photogenic (not necessarily the best) displays we could find.
