There are two renditions of the Nutcracker this weekend

It just wouldn’t be the holiday season if you didn’t catch a performance of The Nutcracker, now would it?

So you’re in luck. There just so happens to be four performances of the famed ballet, at two different Concord locations this weekend.

The St. Paul’s School Ballet Company will present The Nutcracker: Act II, free of charge for anyone who would like to go – assuming there are seats available.

This abridged version of the ballet, featuring music by Tchaikovsky, will include “Snow,” “Arabian,” “Waltz of the Flowers,” and “Marzipan,” is open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Each show will last approximately one hour, and the house will open 30 minutes before curtain.

Performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, at 2 p.m. in Memorial Hall on the St. Paul’s School campus.

Although not required for admission, the SPS Ballet Company invites guests to bring toy donations for holiday distribution to local children. Donated toys should not exceed $25 in value and should be unwrapped.

On Saturday, Turning Pointe Center of Dance will grace the Concord City Auditorium stage for its yearly rendition of The Nutcracker.

And you’ve only got one chance to see it. The lone performance will be held Saturday at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $18 in advance for general seating and may be purchased at the UPS Store (75 S. Main St.) or at the dance studio, located at 371 Pembroke St., Pembroke. Tickets are $20 at the door.
