On Sept. 12, the Friends Program held its 19th annual golf tournament at Concord Country Club to support the Friends Youth Mentoring Program. With 119 players, 45 golf tournament sponsors, more than 50 donors and close to 30 raffle prizes, we were able to raise just over $18,000! This event was a success for the Youth Mentoring Program and we are deeply grateful for the continued community support we receive.

Friends Youth Mentoring helps 150 youngsters each year by matching them with volunteer mentors who serve as positive role models, build kids’ self-esteem and help improve behavior at home, in school and in the community. Last year, Friends mentors devoted more than 13,000 hours of encouragement to their Junior Friends.

We extend a special thank you to our wonderful golfers and to Concord Country Club’s staff for being such gracious hosts. We are also especially grateful for the delicious lunch buffet that was generously provided by Alan’s of Boscawen and the beverages provided by NH Distributors.

Support from the local business community is vital to our success. Special thanks go to lead sponsor, Granite Investment Advisors, as well as Avallone Properties, LLC., Alan Bogosian Electric, LLC., Binnie Media, Cedar Mill Group, Concord Visiting Nurse Association, Contoocook River Canoe, Nathan Wechsler, New England Employee Benefits Company, Northcape Design Build, The Rowley Agency, Screenprint/Dow, South Main Street Service Center, Sulloway & Hollis, Triplet Computers, LLC., and many, many more.

The Friends Program is proud to be part of a community that values all its children and the inherent potential they hold.
