Veterans speaker training June 11-12

Veterans, service members and military families are encouraged to attend military voices speaker training on June 11-12, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the NAMI – New Hampshire office located at 85 N. State St. Lunch will be provided both days.

Many veterans and their families have faced post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, and/or other invisible wounds of war. How they overcome these challenges can be powerful examples for other veterans and military family members walking a similar path. Unfortunately, many veterans, service members and their families suffer in silence, reluctant to seek help because of the stigma associated with the invisible wounds of war. This training will teach veterans, service members and their families how to break through the barrier of stigma and tell their story in a safe and effective manner.

This training will prepare participants to outline their story, prepare for a presentation and modify their story for different audiences – both military and civilian. Those who complete this training will have the opportunity to join a professional speaker’s bureau and be a voice for veteran and military families in New Hampshire.

To learn more or to register for this free training, contact Kimberly at ksomarriba@naminh.org or call 568-5780.
