This isn’t what you typically see in our weekly entry, but it was too cool to pass up. Instagram user fotini_zoi created this masterpiece of New Hampshire for the #glassmapchallenge. She used brown sea glass for the entire state, except for Concord, which is highlighted with a blue marble. See, this city is special. And in case you were wondering, she added the flower “because I thought it would be pretty.” -

In May, Susan Korjagin of Bow (left) and friends Constance Manchester-Bonenfant and Claire Roberge hiked Wainwright’s Coast to Coast trail – a 192-mile walk across Northern England from the Irish Sea at St. Bees Head to Robin Hood’s Bay and the North Sea. We’d probably never have the energy to walk that much, so we’re glad they just brought a copy of the paper and not us. (Courtesy photo) -

The Christmas tree in front of City Plaza is already quite breathtaking with its height and all the colored lights, but add in some dense fog and it made for one great photo opp last week for Instagram user  @iangoesoutside. And of course we had to share it with all of you – this is the decorations issue after all. -

At first glance, this might just look like any ol’ Christmas tree set up in a library. But upon further investigation of this @concordnhlibrary pic is that it’s covered with hats, scarves and gloves. No, they didn’t run out of ornaments when decorating, rather this tree was created as part of the initiative, Keep Concord Warm, where people are asked to donate new or newly homemade hats, gloves, mittens, socks or scarves through Dec. 15 – and you even get to put them right on the tree. Donations will go to the Concord Homeless Resource Center. (Courtesy photo) -

We’re not sure if Instagram user @ironeyewest was trying to make this pic look like a postcard that shows off late fall in New Hampshire, but if so, she nailed it. Just look at how the trees have lost most of their leaves (and yes, more are falling in your yard as you read this), the dark afternoon skies and that fading sunshine that makes us feel like it’s bedtime at 4:30 p.m. And you better believe we’re hanging this on our refrigerator for daydreaming purposes when the white flakes start flying. In keeping with the pets theme, we figured why not check out our Instagram feed to see what pictures people were posting of their animals. Thanks to Instagram user @pincoske and his ragdolls, Pierre and Jacques, we didn’t have to look too hard. It’s safe to say this guy really likes his kitties because only a crazy cat person would actually have bunk beds for their cats. It’s nice to know there are others out there like us.
