Star-studded weekend at Discovery Center

The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center’s annual Aerospacefest will be held Saturday, Sept. 4, from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Activities will be held outside, rain or shine, to celebrate aviation, astronomy, earth and space science, and all things STEM.

Admission is free and reservations are not required.

Activities include:

Observe the sun through telescope filters with the NH Astronomical Society

Meet ambassador animals from the Millstone Wildlife Center

Watch robotics demonstrations by VEX Robotics and FIRST Robotics teams

Learn about local organizations and people working in STEM with Girl Scouts of the Green & White Mountains, meteorite buff and NH finalist for the Teacher in Space program Bob Veilleux, Antioch University’s Alliance for Youth Climate Leadership, Academy of Model Aeronautics, Kollsman/Elbit Systems, NH Space Grant Consortium, Belmont High School Astronomy Club, Squam Lakes Science Center, and GoSTEM

See science in exciting action with Mad Science of Maine

Meet local author Mark Okrant

Celebrate this year’s recipients of the Alex Higgins Memorial Space Camp Scholarshsip

Be one of the first people to see our new planetarium show, One Day on Mars

Listen to keynote speaker Lt. Col. David Zesinger, 23rd Space Operations Squadron, from New Boston’s Space Force Station
