Our first NHTI Friday Night at the Movies is Friday, October 16 at 6:30 p.m. with the 70th anniversary of director George Stevens’ classic, “GIANT” (Rated G, 201 min.). Sweeney Hall Auditorium on the campus of NHTI, Concord’s Community College, Concord, NH 03301.
“GIANT” features Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson and, in his last film, James Dean with an electrifying performance. NHTI students are free; all others $10 (cash or check at the door, no advance sales). More information: Steve Ambra at sambra@ccsnh.edu
A wealthy Texas cattleman (Rock Hudson) deals with culture changes introduced by his new wife from Maryland (Elizabeth Taylor) and an ambitious ranch hand (James Dean) who is about to become very rich. Edna Ferber’s best-selling novel was turned into a spectacular hit by George Stevens (whose direction won an Oscar) and perfectly chosen cast.
