Live music coming up this week(end)

There’s always plenty of good, live music to be heard around here, it’s just a matter of finding the time. We realize we’ve kind of been slacking in the keeping-you-up-to-date department, so we’re here to make it up to you this week.

Here’s a little rundown of a bunch of live music coming up in the near future. We recommend checking some out, lest you look like a loser next time you’re with a group of super-cool local music junkies talking about the latest shows.

Eagle Square

The Shana Stack Band will take over the amphitheater at Eagle Square on Thursday at 7 p.m. The band focuses on new Top 40 country, as well as original music written by Ed Leavitt. The Shana Stack Band has won several awards from Limelight Magazine, including Live Act of the Year.

The concert is sponsored by the Walker Lecture Fund, Coca Cola Co. and Concord Parks and Recreation, and is free and open to all.

Nevers’ Band

Concord’s own house band, the Nevers’ Second Regiment Band (affectionately known as just the Nevers’ Band), has a couple shows on the docket.

The first is tonight (if you happen to be reading this on the publication date, July 26) at Keach Park at 7 p.m. We know that’s pretty short notice, so if you don’t catch this show, try Presidential Oaks next Tuesday, Aug. 2. That show will also be at 7, and both are free and open to anyone.

Bow Rotary

The Bow Rotary Summer Concert Series is in full swing, and it will stay that way until Aug. 14. In the meantime, there are plenty of shows to tell you about. All concerts are held on Sunday evenings at the Bow gazebo by the community building from 6 to 8 p.m., and they’re all free.

On Sunday, check out the South Street Blues Band. We couldn’t find a website or any other info for this band, so they could be the next Led Zeppelin, for all we know.

Concord bars

As usual, the bar/restaurant scene will be rockin’ all weekend long.

At CC Tomatoes on Thursday, have dinner with Evidence Lies from 6 to 8 p.m. Then, head over to Penuche’s for last call – and Somerville Symphony O.

On Friday, check out Downtown Dave & the Deep Pockets at Makris Lobster & Steak House.

There’s more, but we’re out of space!
