Geoff Forester / Monitor staffEvery year, Matt Bonner returns to where his basketball career began and hosts a youth camp for area players who are all probably hoping to one day be the next Concordian to make it big in the NBA. Last week, the gyms at Abbot-Downing Elementary School and Rundlett Middle School were filled with young players looking to learn from one of the most famous professional athletes from New Hampshire. And on Thursday, they got a little surprise. Boston Celtics forward Kelly Olynyk stopped in to help out for a little bit and with lots of basketball fans in attendance, Olynyk spent time working and talking with the kids (most likely about how much he loves reading the “Insider.”) Left: You can’t have Kelly Olynyk at your basketball camp and not document it, so with a professional photographer in the building, all the campers and counselors got together for a big group photo. Right: An Olynyk autograph was a hot commodity. Now he knows how we feel.
