Here’s 10 things for you to do this week

So get off the couch and make it happen!

Tuesday

If you happen to receive the Insider in your paper or frantically hit refresh on our website each Tuesday morning, then you’ll see this in time. Tonight at NHTI, the Wings of Knowledge series continues with “Becoming Wolf” with Chris Schindler, who explores the controversy surrounding coyotes and their coexistence with humans. The free program begins at 6 p.m. in the library living room.

Wednesday

If talking about books is your cup of tea, then head over to True Brew tonight at 6 p.m. for the Concord library’s quasi book club, Books and Brew. You don’t have to read a specific book, rather come armed with some of your most recent reads to talk about. You can even grab a coffee or beer.

Thursday

Concord Community Music School instructor David Surette kicks off the Bach’s Lunch Series with a lecture titled, “Folk, Blues and Beyond: Exotic Influences in the Musical Cauldron of the 1960s.” The program is free and open to the public and will take place from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m., so grab your lunch and head on down.

Friday

It’s time for more Concord 250 fun. At 4:30 p.m., it’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for – the unveiling of the Mosaic 250 community art project – at the Concord library. Check out the four panels, a short film by Penacook Films and a ribbon cutting.

If you’ve always wanted to take a trip to Mars, sorry we can’t really help with that. That’s a little above our budget limits, but R.P. Hale will present on the latest scientific findings on Mars and the future plans for the red planet at the Discovery Center at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and admission is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and students, and $7 for children ages 3-12.

Saturday

We know it’s only November, but it’s time to start thinking about Christmas. And what better way to do that than with Christmas fairs. East Congregational Church will host one from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., while Bow Methodist and the Friends of Forgotten Children will host theirs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

If you just can’t get enough of the farmers market scene, then head over to Cole Gardens for the first winter market of the season. The market runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Saturday.

The Concord Community Concert Series continues with cellist Astrid Schween accompanied by pianist Michael Gurt at 7:30 p.m. at the Concord City Auditorium.

The Concord 2065 time capsule will be placed into the vault at City Plaza at an 11 a.m. ceremony. So go be a part of history.

Monday

Concussions have been a huge topic in the news in recent years and the Concord library will be screening Head Games, a documentary outlining the crisis in American sports at 6 p.m. in the auditorium.
