For the past twenty years, mid-October is when you’d find hundreds of hungry people huddled around steaming trays of delicious entrees from their favorite restaurants, balancing small, loaded plates with samples of beer and wine.

This year, the Taste of NH is being served up with a twist: a summer setting and a new venue at the Bank of NH Stage and Arts Alley in downtown Concord.

On August 20 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., guests can graze their way through dinner and desserts from dozens of local establishments, while sipping on the newest adult beverages and soft drinks. It’s all included in the $40 ticket price, with proceeds supporting the Boys & Girls Club’s Concord-area after-school and child care programs.

Event founder Chris Brown said he was excited about this year’s changes.

“We actually held the very first Taste of NH at the Capitol Center for the Arts. We liked the downtown location but outgrew the space,”he said. “We seized the opportunity to join the new Arts Alley scene, especially in the summer when everyone is out and about.”

Since 2005, the Taste of NH has raised over $450,000 for the Boys & Girls Club through a combination of ticket sales and sponsorships.

“We couldn’t do it without the generosity of the vendors that donate their product and labor.  It is such an incredibly supportive community,” said Boys & Girls Club V.P. of Development Tanya Frost. She added that presenting sponsors Delta Dental and Hannaford, as well as a number of additional sponsors, help the Club achieve its fundraising goal.

Frost emphasized that capacity is limited and tickets should be reserved in advance at tasteofnh.com. There is a $50 discount for packages of 10 tickets.
