Cy and Gordon Sherman were named New Hampshire’s 2013 Outstanding Senior Volunteers as part of the Salute to Senior Service program, receiving the award at a ceremony June 28. The award is sponsored by Home Instead Senior Care.
The Shermans were honored for their volunteer work at the Concord Homeless Resource Center, as well as at Havenwood Heritage Heights, a local soup kitchen and their church.
“The Shermans are so entwined with volunteering and helping out, it is just second nature,” said Sue Pollock, who is the director of programs at Havenwood Heritage Heights and is also the person responsible for nominating them.
