It's another installment of our Girl Scout of the Week, in which we profile some local Girl Scouts to find out just what being a scout is all about. This week, we've got Sarah Whitter. Check it out!

How long have you been a Girl Scout?

I have been a Girl Scout for four years, and every single one has been better than the last!

What are the three qualities of a good leader?

A good leader is fair, kind and a good leader is a role model to girls.

What community service projects have you done?

I've worked on cards for our local Meals on Wheels program and planted flowers at the local church. Also, my troop and I have worked on the birthday bag project. We collect donations that are birthday party-related including cake mixes, frosting and paper products to name a few. We then put them into birthday bags based on theme and then give the “birthday party in a bag” to our local outreach group. We are putting together 100 birthday bags in honor of the Girls Scouts' 100th anniversary.

If you were president for a day, what would you do?

If I were president for a day, I would lower prices everywhere in the country.

Who is your role model and why?

My role model is my mom because she teaches me things like how to cook and how to do crafts.

Why do you enjoy being a Girl Scout?

I enjoy being a Girl Scout because I learn how to do things like first aid and car care. These are things I may otherwise not have an opportunity to try.

What fun activities do you do as a Girl Scout?

Some of the fun activities I get to do as a Girl Scout are go camping; meet new people and most recently I got to go to Washington D.C. to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouts with my troop. It was so awesome!

Tell us three things about yourself that we might not know about you.

I have a pet bunny. Her name is Skye. I love to dance, especially ballet, and I love music by Adele. One of my favorite activities is gardening with my dad.
