Advanced boot camps

The Concord Family YMCA recently introduced two new boot camp classes that use highly effective physical training techniques practiced by the U.S. military. These new offerings take participants to the next level of boot camp training. Body resistance and tubing exercises are arranged to target specific muscle groups, resulting in 600-800 calories burned in each one-hour class. The YMCA's advanced boot camp instructor is military fitness trained, and skillfully leads participants in a series of heart-pounding military calisthenics, cadence calls and fierce kickboxing drills.

Operation Fat Burn classes are offered Tuesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. and Wednesdays from 5 to 6 p.m. Operation Endurance classes are Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. and Fridays from 5 to 6 p.m. Advanced and basic boot camp classes are free for members. For more information, visit the YMCA's Welcome Center at 15 N. State St., call 228-9622, or visit concordymca.org today to learn more.
