Strawberry festival

The Bow Mills United Methodist Church, 505 South St., Bow, will hold its fourth annual Strawberry Festival on June 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The day beings with a blessing of the animals at 11:15 a.m. and again at 3 p.m. Scheduled events for morning activities begin with demonstrations by Shaolin Studios Martial Arts at 11:30 a.m. and the New England K-9 Search & Rescue with Haven at 11:45 a.m. Jade Croissant will entertain us on Violin at 11:40 a.m. and Tyler Baker with a karate demo to music at 11:55 a.m..

At noon, you will not want to miss the Healthy Herds packgoats demonstration, Dog Guide Users Service Dogs at 12:45 p.m. and Finlayson's Pet Care Center disc dog Thor with his Frisbee at 1:30 p.m.

Throughout the day you will be entertained by Hometown Pride, a strolling barbershop quartet. At 12:15 p.m., Linda Ray will entertain you with mountain music on her dulcimer. At 1 p.m., enjoy the sound of the Jubilation Handbells! D'Accord brings you a very special musical performance of great harmony, good humor and nostalgia at its best at 1:45 p.m.

But wait, there's more! During the day, you will be able to get a chair massage, listen to traditional folk and Native American stories by the storytellers. Our animals visiting this year will be the llamas, Fiber McGee and Eddie Bauer; the packgoats, Acorn, Birch, Oats and Barley, along with baby goats; the Mighty Titus Chicks and a miniature pony, Darcy, for petting and brushing. Of course, the “Wanakee Clowns” will be on hand to greet young and old alike. There will be food booths and plenty of Strawberry Shortcake!
