Bike swap approaches

The bike swap is coming! Maybe you're tired of seeing all those bikes that you never ride lying around in the basement, garage, attic and backyard. Maybe you're ready to upgrade to nicer bike and aren't going to need your old one. Maybe you'd just like to support a really great organization by donating an old bike. Whatever the category you fit into, it's time to pull that old bone-shaker out of the shed and wheel it over to S&W Sports at 296 S. Main St., Concord.

You can donate your bike or offer to let it be sold on consignment. All proceeds generated support the Central New Hampshire Bicycling Coalition, a non-profit organization working to make bicycling more safe, fun and accessible.

The bicycle swap is a fun event for families and for bicycle riders of all ages and abilities. It's a great way to pick up an inexpensive bicycle for the 2012 riding season that has been checked over by a knowledgeable bike mechanic. The sale will be May 12 and May 13 at S&W Sports. You can donate old bikes today through May 11 at S&W Sports. Bikes for consignment can only be dropped off May 10 and 11 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Seventy-five percent of proceeds from bikes sold on consignment go to the owner, and CNHBC takes the other 25 percent. Unsold bikes and/or checks will need to be picked up May 13 between 1-5 p.m. CNHBC is not responsible for unsold bikes not picked up.
